The amazingly awesome Jennifer has talked me into doing the Austin Half Marathon. I don't even know what I'm thinking. I have enough time to train I guess. I just need to watch out for those ever so painful shin splints. I've started to slowly get back into running and icing my shin and watching out I feel. I'm still doing bootcamp next month. I really doubt I will give it up anytime soon. I did find a book at Half Price Books that has a training program that will fit nicely into my schedule.
So today I thought we would be doing testing at bootcamp but Robyn tricked us and we are doing it on Monday(?) instead I think. Either way, I need to get re-measured. I'd rather stay away from the scale, but whatev. It's just a number. I know I feel better about myself. Not good enough to sport that Victoria's Secret Swimsuit yet, but whatev. It's good to have goals!
I have also found myself thinking a lot of how I want to decorate the house. So of course, I turn to Etsy. And who would have a FAB-U-LOUS etsy shop but the amazingly talented Saskia! I have been eyeing a few of the prints but I need to decide which ones I want. I don't think Lovey would appreciate it if I bought out the whole shop. =) But oh how I want to!! So go look at her shop. And read her blog too.
**EDIT**
I ALMOST FORGOT!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMIE!!!!

Tomorrow
So tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I have my checkup tomorrow for my surgery. So hopefully the good doctor tells me that I'm doing amazingly well.
Now, also tomorrow, I have an interview for a job at UT. I really want this job. I'm almost afraid to get my hopes up and actually say out loud how much I want this job. Not just because a full time permanent job would be fan freakin' tastic when it comes to planning a wedding and I like the idea of health insurance, but because I would be back on campus and I could possibly be working in the same department as my old boss from the work study days at UT. So why am I afraid of saying out loud that I want this job? Because I don't want to jinx it. I have tried to stay positive throughout this whole unemployment thing and keeping the mantra of 'things happen for a reason' but sometimes its hard to stay positive after so long. But I will keep my mantra in the hopes that all the other jobs that I interviewed me for didn't hire me because I was suppose to wait this long for this UT job.
AAAAAAND I am getting a haircut tomorrow. FINALLY! My bangs look like a long first layer. It's really bad. I should do a before and after picture like Shan. Hopefully I remember. Usually I wait until we go to Gonzales so Ryan's sister can cut my hair but I can't wait any longer. So I will be venturing to Trendz Salon off 183 to visit Apryll at Trendz of Austin. One of Ryan's coworkers co-owns it with his wife (I think, I don't remember the whole story) and last time I went, I loved my haircut. So, at 2:30pm, I shall finally have real bangs again. haha.
And one of the best things about tomorrow....I will get to see Liliana (my MOH). YAY!

It's Friday!
Wow, so today was pretty awesome. Met with another florist this morning and she was extremely helpful about me being more specific about my wedding floral 'vision'. Did you know that there are like 5 different types of hot pink roses? I thought hot pink was hot pink. Not in the rose world. So we'll see in a few days if she can beat The Glass Fountain.
After that adventure, it was off to DSW & Charming Charlies. DSW had some cute stuff but nothing that I wanted to spend money on. Well, at least not in terms of wedding shoes. FYI, if you are searching for red heels for any occasion, there were a bunch of cute ones. I saw like 3 pairs of running shoes that I wanted to get my hands on. But one needs to work out first in order to get new running shoes. Guess I gotta get on that. Then it was a short walk next door to Charming Charlies. (I was at that shopping center by Kohls off 290) Let me tell you, if you need gifts, cute clothes, cute jewelry or anything else in an assortment of colors, you have to go here. I was in heaven! They had so many fun things in all the colors I wanted. Pink, yellow, green, teal...it was amazing. I got some really great ideas for some gifts for the bridesmaids. It was awesome. I shall be going back very very soon. Then it was off to Which Wich for lunch.
After that fun time, I met my parents at the mall and helped my mom shop for a Mother of the Bride dress. Didn't really find much. A salesgirl at Nordstroms told my Mom that they had sold out of a lot of their floor length special occasion dresses because of the Inagural Balls. Damn, I didn't realize that so many of the ppl that went to those balls would get their dresses at Nordstroms. I wonder if any of the dresses I touched almost had the chance to go to Washington. haha. After that almost pointless trip (we didn't really find much), I came home, spent some time with my neighbors and then played with the dogs. Ryan and I also went to Red Lobster. I know its not the best place to eat seafood at but I don't care. Those cheddar biscuits are to die for. I think they put crack in them....just like girl scout cookies. You just cant get enough of them. haha. Now I'm chillin' for the rest of the night. I'm going to attempt to wake up early and take the dogs for a long walk....we'll see how many times I press snooze in the morning and see if I actually wake up....
Hello Pretty
I was doing one of my favorite things (internet window shopping) and came across this beauty. I *heart* Aldo. Now if only the shoes I want will hurry up and go on sale!! This purse would be so cute for summer. =) Please excuse the smallness of the image. I'm actually running out the door to meet with another florist and don't have time to work the magic to make it bigger.

Weekend & feeling useless
So the weekend was pretty good, besides the lonely feeling when Ryan was gone. I got our Shutterfly book in the mail. I love it, it's so cute. Even my Mom thought it was nice. So that's a huge accomplishment. On Saturday, Ryan and I went to a going away party for a friend. She's doing a study abroad program in Paris for 4 months. I'm going to miss her. On Sunday, I had a fabulous sinus headache again. Awesome. I also had a mini breakdown. I think that this unemployment thing is totally getting to me. I know I gotta take the jobs I can get so I'm applying for everything but it makes me mad when I have a math stats degree and I am applying for front desk positions. Nothing against them, I gotta pay the bills but this whole recession/unemployment thing is really playing with my emotions. Don't get me wrong, I like having the time to plan this wedding but there is only so much wedding planning you can do this far out. It's hard to get motivated when all you do is wait. I know I should work out or learn a new skill but like I said, that's easier said than done. I wish these companies would call me back. I hate this waiting game. I just want a job.

Thursday Summary
So my small sinus headache this morning turned into a real one about an hour after my previous post. Yuck. Took a Bayer and proceeded to nap. The dogs left me alone. I think they knew I wasn't feeling well. But I didn't get to take them for a walk, which makes me sad. I'm going to take them tomorrow though. I already promised them. =)
Jill & I ventured to Leander to see Rebekah at The Glass Fountain. Wow, let me tell you, she is one of the nicest people! And I think that she got what I wanted. Simple, classy flowers. Nothing over the top, nothing crazy. Hot pink roses for me, cream gerbers for the bridesmaids, cream spray roses for the groomsmen, and pink or cream spray roses for the other family members. So now I just have to wait for the quote and see if the price is right. I am still toying with the idea of DIY'ing the bridesmaids bouquets. These are a few pics from my first attempt:

I think it turned out ok for the first try. So we'll see. Depending on the quote Rebekah gives me, then I'll decide if I want to go the DIY route for this.
I am a little sad. Ryan is going out of town tomorrow night and I really wanna go but alas, I can't. I have to stay here with the fur babies. Well, I guess that I don't have to stay with the fur babies but it would be sooo much more work to drop them off at my parents house just for a night. So I'll be needing entertainment for tomorrow night if anyone wants to do anything. =)

Wedding on the Brain
The past few weeks have been a nonstop wedding thought. Researching vendors, wedding day hair/makeup ppl, jewelry, veils...you name it, I researched it. Luckily, I can say with mucho confidence that I believe we have our linen rental company taken care of. I just need to holla at her tomorrow to fix a minor mistake on our quote and let her know that I'm sending in a deposit. YAY!
We also did a cake tasting with Amazing Cakes of Austin (i.e. Cakes by Yvette) and let me tell you...YUM-O. I am a die hard cake lover so everything has to be delish. When she first showed us the cake, it was covered in fondant. Points lost. Can't stand fondant. But I tried it anyways. OMG! AMAZING! Points regained. We tried a white cake with 2 layers of rasberry current filling and 1 layer of buttercream which then was frosted in buttercream and covered with white swiss chocolate fondant. And she 'saw' our vision for our cake. I would have loved to book her at that moment but at 3.50/slice, I definetly wanted to check out other options. We's on a budget here.
I think Ryan and I are closer to deciding on our centerpieces. Finally. I didn't realize this would be such a hard decision. And we bought the boxes for me to make the big ol' cardbox. I just need to find wrapping paper or fabric that I like so I can decorate it. Ryan also spray painted the buckets we found at an after Christmas sale that will be used for beer/water (think tin oval beer buckets but these are plastic). He spray painted them a dark brown w/ glitter color and it looks really good. Pictures to come.
Oh! We got our engagements dvd!!!!!!!!!! Which means.... SAVE THE DATES & WEDDING WEBSITE will be done next!!!!! Ok, enough exclamation marks for 1 night...or until I think of something else I forgot.

2 Shoe Bride
So I have decided that I'm going to be a 2 shoe bride. I *heart* shoes. But there are oh so many to choose from! For the ceremony, I will have gold heels and for the reception, I will have HOT PINK heels. =)
Choice 1: Gorgeous Aldo 'Ingels'
Choice 2: Aldo 'Fripent'
Can you tell I'm obsessed with Aldo? =) And those are just 2 of the shoes that I found that I like. But I gotta figure out what heel height I need for my little wedding dress. Now pink shoes, those are harder to find. Maybe I'm to picky. I'll probably have to wait to start searching the spring lines before I find anything I really love.
If I could afford these, I would buy these. Sorry, the way Amazon set up that pic, it wouldn't let me steal the pic. Laaaame. Anyone have any good suggestions for places to find cute pink shoes?

Yay Ebay! Boo Things Remembered!
So Ryan ordered our cake serving set off Ebay last week and it got here today! YAY! It is the Anastasia cake serving set from Things Remembered and we got it for a kick ass price.
Now why would I boo Things Remembered so you ask? Simple answer. Because they are not carrying the matching toasting flutes on their website anymore. I called the store in Barton and the girl was an idiot. Her response was 'We have toasting flutes for that set?' Uhhhhhhhh...loser. Then I called the store in Highland. After dealing with the girl (she sounded upset that I didn't have a sku # for it...well if the product was on the website, I wouldn't need a sku # now would I?), she proceeded to tell me that she did have some left in the store. Then she told me that they are $60.00...are you fucking kidding me? And that's not even engraved. C'mon Ebay, you gotta save me! So if anyone see the Things Remembered Anastasia Toasting Flutes set, please please please email/call/txt/page/holla at me asap. It's a set that Ryan and I both like and I would really like the flutes to match the cake set we just got. Ok, done venting.

Love It
A little late but Merry Christmas! Santa/Ryan brought me something that I really wanted. NEW COOKBOOKS! My love of cooking has been rekindled. The no job thing has been making me lazy and lame. But I was flipping through these two beautiful new books and they are going to be filled with Post It flags in the next few days. I can't wait to try them out.
For Christmas Eve, Ryan and I ventured to Waelder to spend time with his family. It was fun. His dad made brisket and all I can say is DAMN. It was soooooooo good. He made a whole freakin' brisket for us to bring back to my family. I couldn't believe it. mmmmmm I'm drooling just thinking about it. Then we came back early on Christmas morning to spend it with my family here in Austin. Good times, great food, awesome desserts...mmmmm.
Today we took the fur babies to Red Bud Isle. It was awesome. We were worried that the weather was going to be crappy b/c it was windy/drizzling/'cold' in P-ville but we took a chance and went anyways. I'm so glad we did. Blue skies all around at Red Bud. Ratchet was sooo excited to be back and able to run around leash-less. He didn't really get in the water this time, probably bc it was a little cooler than what he is used to. Miss Dakota did very well for her first dog park experience. Ryan and I took her to the back of Red Bud so that there wasn't any real way she could run off with the isle being surrounded by water. She did sooo well. At one point, she wandered off with a group of people heading to their cars and did not listen to Ryan at all when he called her. But what made it even funnier is when she tried to do it again and I called her, she turned her furry butt around and came back. I guess that's what happens when you spend so much time with them at home, they know which tone of voice means business. haha. So I guess another trip down there will be put on the calendar when the weather is nice. Anyone wanna join for a doggy play date?

Weekend Recap
I really need to update more often. Weekend recaps start getting to be way to long...
Friday: As I said below, I didn't get the UT job. Needless to say, I was pretty tore up about it. So when Ryan got home, he saw that I was not a happy camper. So to make me feel better, he took me to Cici's Pizza so I could eat my weight in pizza. Yea, that totally helped. I'm an emotional eater sometimes so buffet of carbs & cheese made me feel loads better. Then we came home, and drank Dos XX's.
Saturday: Went to the RR Outlets to get more dog food for the furr babies. That Petsense place has their food cheaper than Petsmart, which is really helpful when Dakota goes through a bag of food a month...heffer. Then our little family ventured to my parents house to celebrate my brother's 22nd birthday. My brothers & I were also scheming what to get my parents for Christmas...I think we figured it out.
Sunday: POWER SHOPPING! Ryan and I made a list, checked it twice and then off we went to do our totally last minute Christmas shopping. We pretty much finished in 3 hours and also put in extra stops for us i.e. Michael's since I had a 50% off coupon. I ended up buying this fun little gadget for when it's time to do the wedding invitations:
So I'm excited. You should be too. The only people's gifts that are left to be purchased are my Dad's and Ryan's. I guess being at home has its perks. I can venture out during the day to finish my shopping and have the gifts wrapped up by the time he gets home. haha. Oh, and we met the wonderful Linda for dinner last night at Luby's. It was awesome. Haven't seen her in AGES.Awww my 2 favorite people: Lily aka The Short One & Linda aka My Favorite Asian =)

Record Time
OMG I just got a call from Alfred Angelo that my wedding dress is in ALREADY!!!!! That's gotta be record time or something! I knew that it wasn't going to take as long as it usually would since I ordered it in the off season but damn, this makes me want to just get all my crap from AA. Mad props to Alfred Angelo! But now this means that I gotta get my ass in gear to get shoes and veil and blah blah blah. EEEK! But it does make me want to be more productive on the wedding front. Ryan started on our website yesterday and it looks good so far. Once it's more done, I'll post the link.
So I have been searching non-stop for awesome hot pink heels for my dress. Unfortunetly, NOTHING is to my liking. I love me some 4" stillettos but that will def. not work for the wedding day. I would really love to be able to walk by the end of the night. Does anyone have an recommendations for really cute shoes that won't break the bank? I've seen some awesome Betsey Johnson ones but I don't really think I can justify spending $300 on shoes...as much as I would like to. =)

Stuff I want...
So I've started thinking about what I want to wear for our engagement pics in December. Since it will be December, I figured jeans, a sweater and boots would be more than appropriate. I really really want to find a pink sweater but I haven't really found anything that makes me want to spend money on it. BUT this jacket from J.Crew...yea, I totally wanna spend more money that I should on it...haha.
I am also keeping an eye out for wedding shoes. I really like the idea of wearing hot pink heels with my wedding dress. I just need to find the perfect pink shoes. I love shopping, even when I can't buy anything.
