So I love ACL. Totally LOVE it. Even with the heat, overpriced water & overpriced delish food...I still love it. But I am a sad panda because ACL 2009 is the weekend before the wedding. And I want to get married, that's the most important mile stone this year, but why did ACL organizers do this to me! If someone insanely awesome is playing, maybe we'll go for one day, but after last years dust bowl fiasco where the end result was Ryan looking like a cholo & wearing a bandana & being sick for the following 2 weeks...then I think I can just suck it up and forgo this years drunk ACL festivies. Still makes me sad though.

Worried...
So I was trying to be good and not blog at work. But I'm super super worried. My mom called me last night and said my cousin is in the hospital. She suffers from migraines and lately it has been worse (like vomiting after her migraines and as of yesterday, numbness throughout her body). So my aunt took her to the ER and they did an MRI and they found an "abnormality". What the hell does that mean? I'm really scared. I'm hoping it's nothing but part of me doesn't believe that. Am I that cynical and jaded?
My mom might be going to the Valley this weekend to go see them if the news she gets from my aunt isn't good news. With my dad and brother out of town this weekend going to U. of Boston, my other brother working, I might stay home instead of going to Houston. I guess I should tell Ryan about that plan....(we have a wedding reception to go to). I'm even thinking of postponing my birthday party just in case I need to make a last minute trip down there.
Ugh, this is not a good way to start the morning...

to many thoughts..
I can not believe this shit. How can someone do such a vicious crime to another human being just to steal their identity (based on the details of the news story)????? Christy was only 21!!!! That stupid woman and her husband took away this young girl from her family & her friends. Seeing her family at the funeral and how torn up her cousin was just made me soooo mad. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but in this case, I hope those 2 rot in jail forever.
[*Edit*] Apparently that martha hernandez person did this crime to get Christy's identity so she could cross the Tx/Mexico border. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? That is the f'ing reason that you do this to someone? Do like every other mexican and swim across or hop the fence! No offense to anyone bc I'm mexican and we joke about that all the time but I just can't believe it. I hope God stikes down both of those f*ckers..........
Wow my posts have been kinda ranting-like lately. Sorry about that. So much happening at once. I really need to organize my thoughts/life. I was talking to Terri and she suggested that I look into yoga. After all the random happenings in my life, I need an outlet. Maybe I'll throw some yoga into the running/workout mix.
Oh! I start the new jobbie tomorrow. So excited. And nervous, it feels like the first day at a new school. I already have my outfit picked out. Going for the conservative look for the first day. Black 3/4 sleeve top, gray dressy pants, black boots & my hot pink purse. =) go me! Now let's hope that I can get my ass up early enough to straighten my hair. Eeeeeeeek so excited!

Not my kind of road trip
Looks like we are venturing to Gonzales, Tx tomorrow for Christy's funeral. These are not the kind of trips under these circumstances that I wanna make to see my future family....
On a completely different note, I did a cardio workout on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Go me. I was going to do another tonight but my calf muscle feels a little funny so I don't want to push it. Maybe I'll go run tomorrow morning before we leave.
P.S. I don't understand the Twitter fascination. I just don't get it. =\

Mucho Sadness
So, today started off as a really good day. I met Ryan for lunch, picked up Sentinel for the doggies and went Wal-martin' to get some new paint rollers and a drop cloth so Ryan and I could finish painting the accent wall upstairs.
Then I decided to log into myspace. I never log into that damn thing. As I was reading the updates, I noticed one in particular from Ryan's cousin. She wrote that she was sad and missing her cousin and RIP. Then I remember a conversation that Ryan and I had yesterday. His sister had called and said that someone had been killed in Austin......well I googled the name and it turned out that the cousin (not directly blood related to Ryan but related in the Mexican way) was the girl whose body they found by Decker Lake. Of course I called Ryan asap and told him....
I just couldn't believe it. I lit a candle and have been saying prayers all evening. Even during my run (YES I did a cardio workout tonight!!), I couldn't stop thinking about her. I only met her a few times at Christmas but it still makes me really sad. Turns out that my brother actually graduated with her and the word was spreading quickly among her graduating class.
I don't know how many of you are the praying type but if you could, please say a prayer to whichever deity you believe in that they catch whoever did this.

Today's another day...
...that I shouldn't have gotten out of bed. Went to main event this morning to talk to manager people about being a front desk person for a new hotel. It felt like some weird speed dating twilight zone. I was not a fan. Went to lakeline after to check out The Dress Shoppe. They have some nice dresses for waaaaaaaay less than Alfred Angelo or Davids Bridal. Oh, and did I mention that my garage door clicker AND the one we installed next to the garage died??? Had to unhook the fuckin' thing again!!!!!!!! And then I couldnt get it to click back when I got home so looks like Ryan will have to use the front door. It's just one damn thing after another. This week needs to be over. OVER! I just made myself feel better with lots of carbs. I just made a whole bowl of pasta for myself. Just pasta with parmesan cheese. One of my personal comfort foods of choice. I need a hobby. Anyone got any fun hobbies they would like to share? I need ideas. I want to learn how to make jewelry. Anyone into this? Advice? I'm going to go hide under the covers now.
P.S. Thanks to the ppl that commented on my last post. I really appreciate it. It does help out alot. But sometimes I tend to let my sadness win. =(

Weekend & feeling useless
So the weekend was pretty good, besides the lonely feeling when Ryan was gone. I got our Shutterfly book in the mail. I love it, it's so cute. Even my Mom thought it was nice. So that's a huge accomplishment. On Saturday, Ryan and I went to a going away party for a friend. She's doing a study abroad program in Paris for 4 months. I'm going to miss her. On Sunday, I had a fabulous sinus headache again. Awesome. I also had a mini breakdown. I think that this unemployment thing is totally getting to me. I know I gotta take the jobs I can get so I'm applying for everything but it makes me mad when I have a math stats degree and I am applying for front desk positions. Nothing against them, I gotta pay the bills but this whole recession/unemployment thing is really playing with my emotions. Don't get me wrong, I like having the time to plan this wedding but there is only so much wedding planning you can do this far out. It's hard to get motivated when all you do is wait. I know I should work out or learn a new skill but like I said, that's easier said than done. I wish these companies would call me back. I hate this waiting game. I just want a job.

Lonely Friday Night
So Ryan isn't here. He went to Waelder to see the first basketball game of the season in the BRAND NEW gym. This is a big deal for his little 1 flashing red light town. The Wildcats basketball team are the heart of Waelder. Think of the energy of a big Texas 5A football team & their fans i.e. Westlake or Lake Travis (I think they are 5A) and imagine that energy in a 1A basketball team & their supporters in a small town (less than 1000 ppl). So this was a milestone for them. And I'm sooooooo upset that I couldn't go. I stayed home with the fur babies b/c it didn't seem worth it to drop the dogs off at my parents house for 1 night. Then I talked to our neighbor and she told me that she would be more than happy to watch the babies if we ever needed to go out of town. Geez, I wish I had known. I really wanted to see Ryan's sister. Oh well, I'll just plan for a trip in a few weeks I guess. I need to ask her if she can cut my hair again. =) But I'm at the game in spirit. I'm sporting my Wildcat shirt tonight! Go Wildcats!
Our shutterfly photo guestbook got here today!!!! It's so perty. The brown 'leather' cover is perfect. I'm going to put some pink & green ribbon and it and call it a day. We only got 20 pages with various white space for people to sign. If more space is needed, then I guess it's good that shutterfly puts those random white pages at the end of the book. One thing checked off my list, a zillion more to go.

Dilemma
Old company called again asking if I could come back. My option are dwindling. I have no idea what to do. Do I value my sanity or become materialistic and do it for the money? I have a wedding to plan and bills to pay. OMG I don't know. Must think. Any input would be fantastic.

Past, Present, Future
So I holla'ed at a few old friends last night from when I first started college. Ooooh good ol' Kinsolving Dorm. And I started thinking about how in the world we lost touch to begin with. One girl and I used to be inseparable. We lived down the hall from each other, were in APO together etc etc. We were still pretty close after our 2nd year of college and then after that, I don't even know what happened. Thinking back, it makes me kinda sad. She had been there through the insanity that was my life before Ryan and she was there for the joy when Ryan and I finally became an item. How does that happen? I guess maybe I was wrapped up in my own life to really notice the friendships that were fading. Now she's married and had a beautiful wedding from the Facebook pics I saw. Good for her. Congrats girl! As much as I hate facebook sometimes, at least it's good for something every once in awhile.
This morning I read Kate's Bride Wars post and I started thinking about my own wedding. I am not really sure it falls into a category. Yes, it needs to be practical/budget friendly/DIY/gorgeous but I wouldn't squarly put it in one of those. Can we hodge-podge a new category? =) Haha. What shall I call it. While it is not possible for me to have the designer dress and gorgeous 3 ft tall centerpieces (and more power to those of you that do, I love all that), I do love my own picks for my wedding. =) Anyways, I'm starting to realize even though I can't have everything I want, I know it will still be amazing and that our friends/family are going to be there for US and not to nit-pick every little thing. That's my job. =) And speaking of wedding, our engagement pics are uploaded and the DVD is on it's way. Which means Save The Dates are next to be checked off! What What!
That is all....for now...
