So, I've been a little MIA lately on the blogging front, and with good reason. Reading my previous post, my new job was suppose to be an awesome learning experience. Alas, not anymore. About a week after I started training for that position, our company had 'restructuring' and let go of about 20 people. Guess what?! I was one of the 20. So I am now on the unemployment payroll (which sucks bigtime, it's a pride thing) and applying to jobs and not hearing anything back. Let me tell ya, when it happened (Oct. 30), I came home and proceeded to drink and yell and cry. Then met up with other my other newly unemployed colleagues and continued to have a happy hour. So I'm over the shock and annoyance of their actions but that in no way means that I think it was ok what they did. Thank goodness for savings...I gots a mortgage and wedding to pay for. Luckily Ryan and I have budgeted well enough that the wedding will not need any changes and our bills are good to go for awhile. At first, I thought I would enjoy the 'time off' at home while job searching. Yea, it got old real quick. I think it's because I'm one that needs social interaction and I love my dogs, but those fools fall asleep for hours. haha. Anyone know a company thats hiring? We can play a game of if I have applied there already....
On a completely different note: Ms. Vicki of Vicki Smalls has tagged me to list 6 things that make me happy. Sorry it took so long Vicki, I had kind of cut myself off from the blog world for awhile....Anywho, here goes....
1. Ryan.
2. Hot chocolate: OMG this makes me sooooo happy. Spring, summer, fall or winter. I don't care. This is one of the most comforting foods to me. When I can find a badass cup of hot chocolate, I am totally happy. It's a simple pleasure. My total favorite is when its cold outside, and I have my hot chocolate, fleece blanket and a good movie. *Heaven* haha
3. My dogs: Ratchet and Dakota are our furry children (I'll post pics of them soon, need to find some good ones). Ratchet is the older of the 2 and more mine than Ryan's. I love that little furball. He's got the heart of a big ol' great dane but is only 13 lbs. Before we got Dakota, Ratchet was the go to dog. It's amazing how animals can sense when you need them. Dakota is still a puppy so she's all sorts of loopy and hard headed. haha. While Ratchet listens to me, Dakota is the opposite. She is more on Ryan's side for things...crazy German shepard. But I love the fur babies. Hopefully they can be well behaved enough to be in our engagment pictures.
4. Taking pictures: I always have my camera. I am by no means a photographer. I just always have my camera in my purse everywhere I go. Even when Ryan and I go Wal-martin', I always have my camera. haha. I always have that damn little Canon Powershot SD 1000 around my wrist downtown too! I love taking pictures, remembering random moments and hoping for just 1 good picture out of the 2o I've taken. Ryan is more of the photog in our family, with his fancy ass camera with its big ol' flash. He's got the talent for it, I just click the button and hope for the best. =)
5. Reading: whether is a just for fun novel or a 'learn a new skill' book, reading makes me really happy. Especially right now, I enjoy escaping to a different world and not dealing with this one. I love all types of books. Right now I'm into books about Henry VIII after reading 'The Other Boleyn Girl' and books about Texas history (don't ask, Ryan caused that interested to start..haha). Got any good book suggestions for my next read? Since I get to sit on my ass here at home, I went and go myself a brand spankin' new library card to the P-ville Community Library. Yay.
6. Getting real letters: I love getting real mail. Not that credit card bullshit or anything like that. But real, thought out letters. I made a Bridesmaid Newsletter for my girls a few weeks ago and was just going to email it to them, but I thought it would be more fun to send it snail mail. I mean, who wouldn't want to get a letter in a bright pink envelope!? I know I would want one! Not like I get very many real snail mail letters, but the occasional card does show up. That makes me way happy. Especially when there are no bills in the mailbox.
So I should 'tag' others to do this. But I don't know who has done it or not. Sooooo if you are reading this and have not done it, then TAG! You're IT!
