Can Someone Explain?

**please excuse my negativity...it has been a rough couple of weeks**

Whhhhyyyyyyyyyyyy are there some stupid ass MF's in this world? It seems that I come across new ones every single day. In my job, at the grocery store (i.e. my arch nemesis), through stories from my friends. How can these people really believe that they understand the world so much better than me, when in fact they look like a douche. Now, I'm not saying I know everything. Because I don't....usually. =) But I do like to think I have some common sense.

For instance, why do people really believe everything they hear? I mean, honestly, you just look like a fool later on. Maybe, if you stopped for one millisecond and looked at the source of your information, you would see a poor soul that is trying to make themselves look better in their fucked up lie of a world. Those that talk trash and say that certain people are dramatic and this, that or the other are usually the ones that love the drama, just don't have the balls to admit it. I'm just sorry that your life is so shitty that you really need to keep bringing up shit from years ago to make yourself feel better about your miserable life. You are not hot. Get over yourself.

One of the other things that seriously bothers me is people who try to be bitchy towards me in an effort to 'intimidate' me. Seriously?! Have you met me? This happens a lot at work. A. Lot. And it makes me laugh. A. Lot. While I'm usually nice and chipper 98% of the time, the other 2%........yea, the gloves come off. They didn't give me the title 'Royal Bitch' for nothing in APO. (long story, college thing) I usually treat it as a game. See how far they really think they can go. I win. Almost always.

If you got through this blog entry, then congrats. Hopefully I didn't bore you to much with my irritated-ness. I was just talking to one of my best friends about the issues above and we came to the conclusion that most people are seriously stupid. And annoying. Oh, and ugly people cause drama. Now sure how that last one came about. But it sounded like a good idea at the time. I have a few examples, but I'm really not that mean......usually.

Did you miss me?

Wow, it's been awhile! Lovey's birthday was a loooooong time ago. Since my last post, the following has happened..

-I GOT MARRIED!!!
-Officially took over my property and survived the 1st month as manager
-have put off writing thank you notes (in my defense, see previous accomplishment)
-am in the middle of writing vendor reviews
-learned out to make zucchini and pumpkin bread
-Met up with the Austin Bloggers b/c Serena was in town!!! It was so great to finally meet her! We've been 'internet friends' for so long, but to meet in person finally was awesome.
-Changed my name (p.s. the social security office is a scary scary place)
-Signed up for The Feast of Sharing
-Lovey 'reserved' tickets for his company holiday party at Vintage Villas
-Did Race for The Cure (AND finished in like 31:33 or something like that)
-working on cleaning out the kitchen and the crap we don't need

Yea, it's been a crazy past month. I can't believe that it's November already! Lovey and I are trying to figure out what to do for Thanksgiving. I think we are going to Waelder but we haven't talked about it in awhile, so who knows if that plan will happen. What is everyone else doing for Turkey Day?

So I have 2 new lovely cookbooks in my life and I'm so excited that I got them. Now I just have to go to the store (my arch nemesis) so get ingredients to enjoy these books even more! (both images borrowed from amazon.com) Go buy these cookbooks. DO IT. And check out their blogs too: The Pioneer Woman & Crockpock365
Now, for 2 of my favorite sneak peak pics from the wedding. =) Enjoy!!!! (all images property of Inked Fingers Fotography. Don't steal.) Pics are from our wedding and 'We Did It' shoot.

Soooo Clooooose

It is sooo close the wedding. I'm so excited!! So, the tone of my previous post was a very pissed off, not so happy bride moment. We have gotten everything straightened out. Thank Goodness. But still, I am going to be giving a certain few guests at the wedding the Ojo. But the good thing that has come out of it, is that Lovey and I are actually going to be able to invite a few people that we wanted there, but couldnt because of *ahem* previous guest list issues i.e. people being stupid and not telling us if they are coming or just plain adding more ppl.

Now, I know what Mrs. Manners would say (possibly say?). It's not good ettiquette to invite people last minute that weren't on the original list. I saw screw the manners. She obviously did not have a huge Mexican family to deal with that has enough cousins to wrap around the world once or twice. But whatev, Lovey and I are throwing this shindig, so we get to make up our own rules. =)

A Letter to a Few

Dear Select Few Wedding Guests,

Where in the eff do you come off thinking that it's ok to assume other members of your family are invited? I did not invite your mom. I invited YOU. There was no '+ Mom' on the fucking invitation. I am not inviting some really good friends because Lovey and I are hardcore and paying for this shindig on our own. But please, feel free, bring all the people you want. I'll forget the detail that the invitation specifically had the number AND NAMES of people invited. I'll also forget that a certain someone was also a bride not to long ago and was bitching and moaning about this exact same thing. But of course, I'll let that all go. Because I want these random losers at my wedding. I would love to feed them, let them drink my booze and most likely not even get a fucking card. But please, join us. The more the merrier. FML.

Oh, and I swear, it really wasn't a headache at all trying to contact the missing 20 or 30 invites to determine if they were coming. I didn't realize that I should have had some sort of psychic ability to just KNOOOOW that you were coming. My mistake. I'll work on that.

Love,
Princess Selina

Need Motivation? I Think You Need a Bootcamp..

So if you have attempted to keep up with my blog, you know that I have become a little obsessively dedicated with going to bootcamp. Like, to the point that I feel guilty if I have to miss. Anywho, I think introductions are in order.

Everyone, meet Bootcamp U of Austin, TX. And then go read the blog.
Bootcamp U, meet everyone.

Now everyone play nice, I don't have time to separate people.

And while I know there are days that I bitch and moan about dragging my happy ass to bootcamp, I'm still glad when I go. It has helped me with my running, which is going to be so key in the next few months.....that is because I am crazy insane and signed up to do the Austin Half Marathon Today with Jennifer. Yea, be jealous, I know you want to be just as crazy as we are. I can also say that bootcamp is going to be the reason I look so hot in the black dress I bought for Friday. I did have to go searching in a teeny bopper store to find it, which explains why the damn thing is so short, but whatev, beggers cant be choosers. I still rule.

Giveaway & A Sort of Rhetorical Question...

The always fabulous & highly entertaining Mrs. Newlywed is having a fantastic giveaway! I guess you should go check it out but don't enter though bc I want that in my house. She is giving away the Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Collection. Sounds all fancy shmancy. =) Good luck to those who enter!

Now, sort of rhetorical question time. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy can't my dog get her shit together and learn a lesson? A few posts ago everyone was introduced to Dakota aka The Bear. And I was so concerned for her well being......NOT AT THIS MOMENT ANYMORE! For those that don't know, my dog is a chewer. She ALWAYS has something in her mouth (I swear she's worse than a small child). If I gave Dakota a rock to chew, I'm fairly sure she would chew it. Now, most people don't know that she is destructive like this unless they have heard it from me, or have seen our house. It seems that her & the following items just don't get along so she feels she has to teach them a lesson by attemting to destroy them: corners, baseboards, linoleum, the upstairs couch, plastic, tv remotes and I'm sure many other things that I have yet to discover.

While she has torn up the things listed above, I did get mad but just blew it off. She did lose outside the crate priveledges when we weren't home though due to all the destructiveness. Well, this morning, as I was going to wash the NEW sheets that were bought AS A WEDDING PRESENT, I noticed one of the plastic packages open and wet. Upon further inspection, the plastic was ripped, the sheet was soaking wet and THERE WAS A RIPPED OUT PIECE ON THE EDGE OF THE SHEET. OMG I was livid. L.I.V.I.D. I just dont understand why she feels the need to do this????? I swear she has a death wish! And it was done while we were sleeping! This girl is about to be damned to her grate for every hour of the day! And she's an effin smart dog! How can she be so dumb????

Does ANYONE have any advice on how to get her to stop her chewing ways??? She has raw hides, compressed raw hides, the sterilized bones, ropes etc....all of which she uses on a daily basis but I have no idea why she transitions to stuff she knows she's not suppose to chew on. I'm at a total loss

Bootcamp Update

Yesterday was testing day again at bootcamp. I improved on almost everything....except I FAILED at something that should have been EASY to beat. I don't know what was up. I don't wanna talk about it.

Squats: 50? maybe 40? don't even remember. bottom line, not better than last time
Pushups: 40 real pushups! I. RULE.
Sit Ups: 30 or 35 (yea, my memory isn't working right now)
Core Planks: 3 min 37 seconds! Again...I. RULE.

Now I need to remember sign up for the Austin Half Marathon. Is early registration still going on? I'm cheap. I'd rather pay as as little as possible right now. Tonight Lovey and I are taking the dogs for a nice leisurely walk to get them out of the house. It should be fun.

Dakota Bear

Everyone meet Dakota aka Big Bear. This morning, I just about had a heart attack/panic attack because she did not want to eat. My Dakota Bear does NOT pass up a meal. EVER. I should have noticed when she was super calm, almost lethargic, laying at my feed while I ate my cream of wheat & drank my coffee. When she didn't jump up to tackle Lovey when he opened the food container, I knew something was wrong. I knew something was SUPER wrong when the bia growled at me. Dakota does. not. growl at me.

Now, I didn't want to be one of those puppy mommies that calls the vet when my dog sneezes funny. So I got ready really quickly (which is why I'm glad no one came into the office today..I looked rough), let The Bear out, and watched her from the window. She finally took care of business, ate grass, most likely coughed it up and then went on her merry way. I was sooooooooooooooooooo relieved. I have no idea what made her act like that. She is like a little kid and puts EVERYTHING into her mouth. No joke. So who knows if it was something she ate or if it was because she didn't *ahem* use the ladies room last night...

I don't think that anyone could seriously understand my relief when she started to play with me and tried to sit on my lap (yes, she is 54 lbs & truly believes she weighs 15 lbs), & jumping on and off the couch unless they have had this experience with their fur baby. I seriously wanted to cry when she wouldnt eat. I mean, what exactly can you do? They can't tell you whats wrong. I'm so glad she's ok. Even though she is big and crazy, I couldn't do without my Dakota Bear.

Up next, a post about the amazingness that is Ratchet aka Ratchito aka Chiquito Ratchito aka Cheeto =)

Wedding Talk

So, a few things wedding....or a lot. We'll see how far I get before I get bored of typing/thinking. Make note, the beginning portion of this post is religious related. I don't usually talk about religion on here, but it seemed appropriate right now. Nothing preachy, just thoughts.

Last night, we had the meeting with the Deacon that is presiding over our wedding. Walking into the parish offices, I was just like 'whatev' to all this church business. Ok, wait, let me back up....

Lovey & I are getting married by the church. Do we go to church? No. Do we think about going to church? Sometimes. Do we agree with the church? I'm going to have to check the 'Not Exactly' box. So you may be asking "Whyyyyyyy are you guys getting married by the church?" Very good question my friends. Let me give you my answer. Our families would not take kindly on the situation if we did not get married by the church. And while right now, I do not agree with the church, I know that I still have my faith. I went to church regularly when I was younger, but that was with my parents. Now I feel like I am still trying to find myself and I know that the church will still be there if and when I decided to go down that path again. I also want our future children to have the option to choose how they want to practice their faith.

Ok, back to last night. After meeting with our Deacon, I realized that I am looking forward to our wedding ceremony. Hearing the Deacon say our reading, the readings that will be spoken at OUR ceremony, really made it seem more real. Lovey and I are getting married on October 10. After hearing the Deacon read the readings out loud, really was a powerful moment. And the fact that he said we chose very powerful readings made it seem even more real. For anyone else that got married by the church, did you have a moment were suddenly things looked different? Does that make sense? I am not overly religious in any way (I guess at this point in my life, I'm more spiritual but I don't feel like going into all that business), but after hearing our readings from the Deacon and havng Lovey sitting right next to me, it just really moved me. It's so hard to explain.

Ok Ok, enough seriousness. Back to the real Princess thoughts at hand. Lovey & I came home from our last mandatory church class and found a box on our doorstep. I wasn't expecting anything so Lovey went and picked it up.....AND IT WAS OUR 1ST WEDDING GIFT! A box from Williams Sonoma. *swoon*.....of course, I had to txt Trish bc I don't know the ettiquette of gift opening since my bridal shower is on Sunday, but in the end, it didn't matter because the damn thing was wrapped in the classic ivory wrapping paper, pine green ribbon, and bronze acorn decoration that I know and love. It's staring at me. I want to open it. But I'm going to be good bc the guest that bought it will be at the bridal shower on Sunday. So it's just there...staring....

So Much To Talk About.

Jobbie: So it looks like I'm officially going to be promoted to manager on October 1. I wasn't ready to put it out there yet until it was 'official'. Well, I'm being trained for it, and in our little company world, that's pretty damn official since we don't really get to much real training. It's more of a sink or learn to swim type job sometimes. But the closer it gets, the more excited I am about it. Regional Bosslady has already given me current and past budgets so I can see what I have to work with and I already have set an expectation for myself on what to do with our property and how to get it where I want to get it. Hopefully I haven't set the expectations for myself to high, but I really want to prove that they made the right choice to promote me. =)

Wedding: The wedding is sooooo close. It's like 31 days or something crazy like that?! I'm so excited. This weekend will be my 2nd fitting at Alexia Gavela and I can't wait!! My mom is going with me and so is Liliana (guess I should remind her of that). And the great thing is that AG will keep my dress there until a few days before the wedding. Couldn't ask for more. Lovey & I are trying to gather and finish the last of the wedding projects, so hopefully we can knock all that out in the coming weeks. I'm just happy to see the to do list getting smaller. =) Now I just have to go shopping for something super cute for the bachelorette party and the bridal shower.....
(Random Note: Lovey's Bachelor party is THIS Saturday.....I wonder what kind of stories I won't hear about...)

Life: At this point, life is pretty grand. And pretty uneventful. I highly doubt people care that Dakota has a vet appointment this weekend and that I need to clean the house. And I seriously doubt that people care that I'm going to paint the master bath Behr 'Embellished Blue' and go buy chocolate brown towls and accessories to match. But that makes me happy. Oh! I also bought a new driver for $15 for my non-existent golf game. But I don't care. I'm excited to go to the driving range so I can try it out. I know I need a new putter though. But that means I need to learn how to putt. Peter Pan Putt-Putt here I come! Who wants to join? =)

Plans for tomorrow: not being a fatty (this weekend was so much drinking and food that I need to be super well behaved on the food front), going to bootcamp, painting the bathroom and maybe some online shopping.

Bootcamp Testing Day!

Yesterday was testing in bootcamp. I kicked ass. And I have the battle wounds to prove it. Usually it doesn't bother me, but coreplanks totally scrapped up right elbow bad. I look like I feel off a bike.

Squats: 55 (ish)
Pushups: 35 regular, 5 modified
Situps: 27
Core plank: 3:07 <---i so rule! but my elbow doesn't think so. =(

So now my ass needs to get to bed. I'm meeting Liliana for a 6:30am run....and still have bootcamp at 7pm. Whyyyy do I do this to myself?

Oh, and Owner Man is coming on Thursday. I might have news to relay to the followers of my little blog world...hopefully good news....

Not Your Momma's Tupperware Party!

I'm hosting a Tupperware party on Sunday, August 30 at 1pm! You know you wanna come (same rules apply from the Austin Bloggers GTG i.e. no creepsters). Leave a comment or email me (email on sidebar) so I can send you the Evite.

I'll have food, drinks and Tupperware! My friend is a new Tupperware rep and will present the new lines of stuff that you can check out! You are by no means obligated to buy anything, but once you see this awesome stuff, you'll want to add a few of these pieces to your storage container collection.

Ode To Polkadots

Everyone knows that cupcakes are a lovely weakness of mine. Ever since Trish surprised me with a sampler dozen of Polkadots cupcakes for my birthday when I worked at Temporary Job, I've been telling everyone about them. So what better occasion to buy another dozen but for a going away bbq for my brother. He had to try some of the best cuppycakes in Austin before he ventures away to Boston University.
So my reason for the Ode To Polkadots title? This place is a-freakin-mazing for customer service. I dont know if they usually do this, but they let me pick up cupcakes at 9am on Saturday even though they didn't officially open until noon!!! Now that is fantastic customer service. I look forward to the next time I need to pick up a dozen of these tasty treats.

Do I look Like A Yo-Yo?

Ok, so I tweeted earlier that I had a meeting with my regional. Well, the actual meeting never happened. What I did find out that I am apparently getting promoted to a manager position for another property..................starting Sept. 1. O.M.G.

Then, I got a txt from regional lady that owner man is suddenly thinking something different and that he's driving her crazy. So what does that mean? Am I having a week of intense, make you cry like I am cramming for a Real Analysis final training, or is nothing changing at all and he decided that I couldnt handle it. WTF is going to happen? I guess the only thing I can do is wait.........It's just hard. I don't know what to think. I'm excited, but I'm terrified. Will it happen, will it not? Tell Me!!!

Now, I'm still now sure how I feel about this development. I just started doing this jobby the last week of May/beginning of June. Most of the other managers had about a year and a half of training, maybe 2 yrs. Which is why I have the constant thoughts of can I do this or will I fail? And now that the opportunity has actually been spoken and then the owner not sure how he wants to proceed, I dont know what to think.

One good thing is that I am actually going to start training on Monday with the regional lady no matter what the final outcome is. She wants me to know what is going on when my boss leave in October. I really hope I don't go insane before the wedding....

Hilarious!

So the following was a forward that was emailed to me from my lovely friend and neighbor M. I usually don't like forwards but this helped me get through the day. It's long, but oh so worth it. Real blog post is being drafted. Don't worry, I know you want to know about my life happenings.

Random Thoughts of the Day:
1. More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

4. Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going?

But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

5. That's enough, Nickelback.

6. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

7. The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

8. Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

9. There is a great need for sarcasm font..

10. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the fuck was going on when I first saw it.

11. I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it..

12. The other night I hit a new low at an open bar. I had already hopped on highway blackout when, inevitably I had to find a bathroom. Eventually I decided it was probably on the other side of the bar so I tried to walk over there, but ran into a guy coming the other way. We played that, Both go left, Both go right game to no avail, so I finally put out my hand to guide myself past and that's is when I realized, yup, that's a mirror I just tried to walk through. And the guy on the other side is me. Even cats can re cognize their own image.

13. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

14. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

15. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

16. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

17. A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

18. Was learning cursive really necessary?

19. Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

20. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

21. Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

22. My brother's Municipal League baseball team is named the Stepdads. Seeing as none of the guys on the team are actual stepdads, I inquired about the name. He explained, "Cuz we beat you, and you hate us."

Classy, bro.

23. Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

24. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

25. I love the sense of camaraderie when a n entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

26. Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

27. What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

28. While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

29. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

30. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

31. I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

32. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

33. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

34. Bad decisions make good stories

35. Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

36. Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

37. If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

38. Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....

39. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

40. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

41. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

42. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

43. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

44. I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

45. While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA. No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don't win, they are executed.

46. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

47. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

48. When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking.

49. I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.

50. Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

51. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

52. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

53. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

54.. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

55. I think that if, years down the road when I'm trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.

56. Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

58. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

59. It really pisses me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.

63. The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimate d that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fat bastard before dinner.

Long time no see!

Oh blog world, how I've missed you! While I'm sure everyone was just at the edge of their seats waiting for me to post, not much has happened in this Princess Land. But let's recap in bullet point form, shall we?

  • WEDDING INVITATIONS GOT MAILED OUT YESTERDAY!!!! oh em gee what a relief. Except now, I am realizing just how long the rest of my to do list is. Awesome.
  • Bosslady told me that she's moving in October....which means I'm suppose to be training for her job....please, don't congratulate me. I'm still not sure how I feel about it considering that I have never done anything like this before until I start at the beginning of JUNE!!! Overwhelmed much? Yes PLEASE! And it doesn't help that our section of the business isn't doing to hot right now. No, no pressure at all. (insert big fat crying tears here)
  • I decided to paint the bathroom. I bought a sample and at first I didn't like it, but then it grew on me. Pictures to come when I actually go buy enough paint to do it....and when I clean the bathroom.
  • Working out is going well. Bootcamp is kicking my ass, as usual. Starting to get back into the running thing. Went to Lake Pflugerville with Liliana on Friday and then with Lovey on Sunday. I kicked ass on Sunday...3 miles in 35 minutes. That's pretty damn good for not having run in a looooooooong time. Half marathon, here I come!
  • Wedding to do list is still long. But I'm off this weekend so I plan to knock out a whoooole bunch of stuff. YAY!
  • I've also decided to get solar nails....BUT I need salon recs! Anybody? Anybody?? I'd prefer north ATX, Pville, or Round Rock (maaaaaaybe even Georgetown) but I'll venture anywhere.
Ok, that's all I can think of right now. More to come later. I'm going to be a better blogger. Pinky Swear! =)

Jumped on the WW Bandwagon

So I just did it. I signed up for WW online. After listening to so many WW stories from various blogging buddies, I decided I needed the extra push to be held more accountable for what I eat. I'm getting the workout part done well by doing bootcamp. Now I just need the other side of it to get the eating more under my control. So stay tuned. This should be interesting....

What am I thinking??

The amazingly awesome Jennifer has talked me into doing the Austin Half Marathon. I don't even know what I'm thinking. I have enough time to train I guess. I just need to watch out for those ever so painful shin splints. I've started to slowly get back into running and icing my shin and watching out I feel. I'm still doing bootcamp next month. I really doubt I will give it up anytime soon. I did find a book at Half Price Books that has a training program that will fit nicely into my schedule.

So today I thought we would be doing testing at bootcamp but Robyn tricked us and we are doing it on Monday(?) instead I think. Either way, I need to get re-measured. I'd rather stay away from the scale, but whatev. It's just a number. I know I feel better about myself. Not good enough to sport that Victoria's Secret Swimsuit yet, but whatev. It's good to have goals!

I have also found myself thinking a lot of how I want to decorate the house. So of course, I turn to Etsy. And who would have a FAB-U-LOUS etsy shop but the amazingly talented Saskia! I have been eyeing a few of the prints but I need to decide which ones I want. I don't think Lovey would appreciate it if I bought out the whole shop. =) But oh how I want to!! So go look at her shop. And read her blog too.

**EDIT**
I ALMOST FORGOT!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMIE!!!!

T.I. Had It Right

**If your day was peachy keen & filled with rainbows & unicorns today, I wouldn't read this, it's got some anger up in here**

So I haven't blogged in awhile. I didn't want to force it. BUT this week has been quite eventful. Work has been productive. I guess. I still can't see the actual top of my desk because there is still so much paperwork on it, but eh, whatev.

You. Don't. Know. Me. That should be my theme song. One thing that I have come to encounter more so this week is people who are assuming that they know more than, or just plain know me. If that is one thing that annoys the shit out of me is someone who thinks we are tight like that. I don't know you really, you sure as hell don't know me. I work in customer service. I'm SUPPOSE to be nice. And most of the time, I genuinely am nice to everyone and I want to help. But if you call me and bitch about how it's bullshit that you are getting charged this or that fee, then you should think before you talk. It's in the contract. You violated it. Hence, FEE! Is that really hard? And you really want to push me? I know of at least 10 other violations of that contract. I have no problem sending you charges everyday for them. So there.

This is also the case for other things....I am very in your face, very confrontational, very emotional.....WHEN NEEDED! Sure, it is fun making people cry, but if I did it all the time, it wouldn't be fun anymore!! I would love to tell certain people that I think they are stupid, need to grow up, form their own opinion, put on their adult underroo's and make their own effin decisions. Don't ask for my advice on shit if you aren't going to take it. It defeats the purpose and wastes my time.

Which leads me to one of my favorite quotes. Not sure where I first saw it..high school maybe? I don't even know who said it but I love it none the less.

"Smile, it makes people wonder what you are up to..." (or in my case, it should make them wonder if I'm pointing and laughing at them on the inside)

Mmmmm Baking Accomplishment

While a lot of things did happen this weekend, the highlight was baking with Jennifer. Ok, I lied. Going to Riata on Friday with Coach Robyn & Kim was a highlight of the weekend as well.

But back to baking. I crashed Jennifer's place after running some errands on the south side of ATX. We then proceeded to make the Cookie Dough Topped Brownies from My Kitchen Cafe. Holy crap were they delish. Go make them. Now. And while your at it, double the cookie dough recipe so you have something to entertain yourself while the brownies cool.....not like we did that or anything....never.

Bootcamp Diva!!!!

Yea, guess who kicked ass and took names.....ME! Yesterday we did testing in bootcamp and I totally ruled. I beat all my initial testing numbers! The initial test was done when I started bootcamp and for this test approximately 5 weeks has passed.

Initial Test / Yesterday's Test **edit:Robyn gave me the real numbers, so I updated them**

Squats: 41 / 50
Pushups: 16 regular, 10 modified / 30 regular, 8 modified
Crunches: 26 / 30
Core Plank: 1:10min / 2:25min

I'm so happy that I improved on everything. I can't remember if all those initial test numbers are totally accurate, but I know they are pretty close.

So basically what I'm trying to say is that if you want to be a badass like me (not really but my blog, so my world), then check out Coach Robyn's website and email her!

Countdown freakout

Ummmm WTF? My counter just changed to 2 months (89 days). While I know I shouldn't be freaking out because Lovey and I have been pretty good at keeping up with everything, seeing that 2 month mark.....FREAKS ME OUT! Still have so much to do. I guess it's time to update the 'wedding crap that needs to be done' list......

To Print or To Label...

**Warning: The beginning of this post will be a total Bride Brain Moment. Scroll to the end for some awesome Giveaway's I'm posting about if you can't handle it**

So the Lovey and I have finished cutting all the inserts for the wedding invitations and mounted the main invite in the pocketfold envelope. Now the question.....to print the address on the invitation envelopes or to just print out clear labels and slap them on there. Thoughts? Here are mine...

*Printing the addresses on the envelopes can look just as nice as handwriting them. In my case, printing from the computer is actually better because my handwriting is ugly..uhh..I mean a little sloppy sometimes.
*We are hand writing in everyone's name on the RSVP's already so that there are NO issues (ha, I can't even write that w/o laughing) of random people showing up at the wedding. So that should count for something
*Clear labels caaaan look nice if the right font is used. I don't want to look or be cheap, but damn, at this point, I just want the damn things to be done.
*Plus side of clear labels is I already have them....downside of envelope printing is that I've never printed envelopes on my printer.

Would you be truly offended if you received a SUUPER cute brown and hot pink wedding invitation that had a printed label on it? Or would you prefer something nicely printed on the ivory envelope? And don't even start with 'invitations need to be taken to a calligrapher blah blah blah'....I'm a champagne girl on a Bud Light budget. And handwriting everyone's name and address is NOT my idea of fun. =) Sooooo what do you think? GO!

Awesome giveaways that I want to win, so please don't enter. But I want to tell you about them so that I can increase my chances...I mean, so that everyone can know how awesome the blogs I follow are. =)

Giveaway #1 from the FANTASTIC Kimmie at Full Circle Adventures. She is giving away an autographed copy Jen Lancaster's Pretty in Plaid to celebrate her 500th post! That's so awesome! So go check out her giveaway. But again, don't comment. =)

Giveaway #2 is from the truly entertaining Mrs. Newlywed at Misadventures of a Newlywed in honor of her 1 year blogging anniversary. She is one entertaining fashionista so add her blog to your reader....or just add her to Twitter, that is just as entertaining. But back to the giveaway. I love monogrammed stuff. I want more monogrammed stuff. I love makeup. So a monogrammed cosmetic bag to carry all the make up I love? Yes Please!

Hi! Friend Request!

Answer me this...

Why am I suddenly getting friend requests on that super cool social Facebook site from people I knew in high school....THAT I DIDN'T TALK TO AT ALL BY THE END OF SENIOR YEAR? While I was friends with these last few ppl who have send a friend request during our innocent freshman years, by the end of those 4 marching band filled years, I was suddenly 'not cool' enough to roll with that 'crew' anywhere anymore.

I've come to realize that I have changed quite a bit since those lovely 4 years. I used to care that I wasn't one of the 'cool' kids and would sometimes try really hard to please others. Ha, that is so not the case anymore. I will admit I take a small amount of pleasure seeing those blast from the past people that thought I wasn't cool enough and having them do the whole "omg how are you, it's been so long, what are you up to" and I respond with "we didn't talk in high school, you acted like a fucktard so why do you care what I'm up to now." The look of shock is pretty pleasing. Yes, it's mean and childish but whatev. I know every single person knows something that they have done that to or wish that they could do it to. Try it. it's fun. =) **shake them haters off**

I will say though that while I have no problem admitting that I am a bitch, can be really mean, and am super cynical, I also understand more about myself now and try to take other's feelings into account for certain situations. But if you act a fool...then there will be pointing and laughing involved. =)

Oh, and I still haven't accepted or denied the request. I think I will let them hold their breath...

The Good, The Bad & The Stupid

The Good
-Ryan & I went to Coach Robyn's house for a small get together. It was fun not having to worry about lunges and presses and just drinking beer. =)
-We printed our wedding invitations on Sunday!!! Now it's time to cut them to size and get them ready for a fun invitation making party. I'm so excited
-Ryan bought me a new golf bag. It's pink. Enough said.
-Ryan also took me to the driving range for the first time!!! OMG I loved it. I can't wait to go back again. He said I did pretty good for the first time. I was just glad that I hit the damn ball. I did hit the guy driving the ball picker-upper thing. Yea, super technical term. I'm going to be sooo good at remembering all the rules. Shut up.

The Bad
-The cookie cake pie from the CakeSpy turned out HORRIBLY for me! It didn't cook all the way through. Baking FAIL. That's all I want to say. I'm glad the CakeSpy's came out awesome. Mine did not. But I will say that the edges cooked great and they tasted amazing. Maybe once I get over the failure feeling, I'll try it again. maybe.
-I can not STAND how Michael's does not let you use a 40% off coupon on a product that is already on sale in their ad. Ummm...hello! You are still getting money! If Kohl's or Macy's did that shit, then they wouldn't have any shoppers. Don't they realize that if I can take more money off the more expensive item, then I can spend more money on other random crap that I don't need???

The Stupid
-I switched offices today for workity work today. Someone called today BITCHING that it was an INFERNO in their apartment....ummmm....it's 105 degrees outside, you live on the 2nd floor, hot air rises and you are one lucky ass bastard that your AC works and that it's 70 degrees. Yes, I understand that some people like their homes at 65 degrees....but seriously? The complex is over 20 years old, AC's are expensive so they are serviced as needed. It's how apartment complexes work. If you don't like it, then go live in a brand spankin new apartment and pay 5 times as much. F*cker ruined the end of my day.

This totally made the very end of my day though. Courtesy of I Pick Pretty. Go read her blog. And GO! Move it!

Reflection

Ok, so looking at my previous entry, I was pretty upset. Now that I've had time to think it over, I'm not as upset that those shorts didn't fit. I have been following a work out routine more consistently that I have ever done before and I am starting to see arm definition. So thinking a little more about it, I'm starting to think that the inability to put on said shorts is due to gaining more muscle in my legs (no explanation for a possibly bigger booty but we won't dwell on that point). I guess I still have a *slightly* small hang-up on the number inside of my jeans but I'm trying to get over that. As long as after a few more weeks then months at bootcamp I bring my body fat down and am able to run a little further and do a few more pushups, then I'll be happy.

Speaking of running, I did want go to Lake Pville tonight to run, but I also need to go to Academy to get new workout clothes. So I'm torn...to go work out, or to go get work out clothes. On the upside, I do have bootcamp Wednesday and Thursday, sooooo it's not like my workout will be neglected. =) Yea yea, I know, I'm reaching for the excuses. We shall see. Depends on how hot it still is after I get off work. Ryan is currently benched from working out because he got elbowed in the ribs playing basketball by some fool who thought he was trying out for the NBA....asshat. And I don't want my big Dakota Bear to get heat stroke if we go out there.

I think I want to make pesto sauce tonight...

I call foul!

Why do I call foul you ask? Because it makes me so mad that I feel like I'm doing well with working out, trying to lower the calorie intake and eat better and when I try on some old pairs of shorts that I think are my size that have been sitting in closet for awhile....and the effin' shorts DONT FIT. Not even like 'Oh they are a little snug' not fit, like 'I can't get them over this big ol' ass I have acquired'.....grrrrrrrrrrr. So frustrating. I don't have money to go out and buy a new weekend wardrobe. I can barely afford clothes for work (i.e. been shopping on craigslist and friend's closets for new to me clothes, not new at the store clothes).

I felt like I was getting better, like I could see a change. The clothes in my closet beg to differ. Which pisses me the eff off. =(

And done.

Weekend Review

Friday
Bootcamp night! Usually bootcamp is Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but our bootcamp leader had plans on Wednesday, so Friday makeup bootcamp was in order. I really can't say enough how happy I am that I found this bootcamp. The location is perfect, the other girls are so awesome, I just love it. And I already feel stronger from it. I'm not sure yet if I can see changed, but I can feel them. I need to work on the eating better part of my new 'get healthy' life plan, but I am getting better at that. I'm working on our meal plan for this week, so as soon as that is in order, I'll post it. I know you are on the edge of your seats...

Saturday
I went to work from 10 to 2 and it was uneventful, unfortunetly. Oh well, hopefully this week will be better. Then came home and cleaned the house. Ryan and I also went on a Half Price Books expedition and I got some really fun stuff. I bought Sandra Lee's Recipe Card Box and it has some good stuff. While some of her recipes are a little to 'store bought,' she has some really good ideas that I'll use a base.
I also about a new baking cookbook! Unfortunetly, I am not able to find it on a search of Amazon or Barnes & Noble.com (WEIRD) but it's an awesome book. It's called I *heart* Sugar (the *heart* is an actual shiny red heart). I'm so excited! I found a recipe that I'm going to make my Daddy for Father's Day. After our Half Price Books adventure, Ryan and I went to Diana's coming home party. She has been doing study abroad in Paris since January and is finally home! It was so fun. I love how her Mom makes food every time & homemade Mexi-tini's...mmmmm. =)

Sunday
Yea, so bootcamp was a FAIL this morning. I woke up with a sinus headache so that made for a very unpleasant Sunday morning/afternoon. The family also came to the house so Ryan could load some stuff on my brother's brand-spankin' new Macbook (**jealousy**) so I tried to keep my head exploding through that. I was so mad I missed my workout. Hopefully that doesn't throw off my workout motivation this week.

Bootcamp tomorrow!!! *woot*

changes...

i sense a change coming on. a huge change. not anything that can be seen on my blog or anything like that. a change of mentality. i've started the bootcamp/working out thing. but it's finally time to change the mindset. i keep saying i'll do it sometimes, well today is the day that it will actually start. i'm tired of the feeling that it's suddenly summer and being afraid of being invited to pool parties or the prospect of being in a swimsuit. i will win. i will look cute in my new swimsuit.

Bootcamp: Day 3 + Random Rambling

I'm about to say something that I have never really said or thought before......

I like working out!

Yup, that's right. I said that I am starting to like this whole working out thing. Join a bootcamp. Go do it now! I know that Vic does one further south/central than I am, so go ask her what her bootcamp is all about! But watch out, she might be a little whoozy from her surgery. =) *love ya Vic*

So I got hung up on today. It was hilarious. People are special. That's all I'm going to say.

My brother graduates tomorrow. SOOOOOOOOOO excited. I can't wait to see him walk across that stage! Boston, here I...uh, I mean he....comes! LOL. But in all seriousness, he worked so hard to get where he is now.

I'm sleepy. I think it's going to be an early bedtime tonight.
